Derrick Schneider - Bio

Derrick Schneider is a freelance food and wine writer and computer programmer. He believes that small farms and traditional ways often produce better food than corporations that care more about their bottom line than your health or taste buds. He also believes that local economies matter, and we should strive to keep our money within them. He is, not surprisingly, a card-carrying member of Slow Food.

He has written numerous articles for The Art of Eating, The Wine News, and Wine Review Online. He’s a regular contributor to Edible East Bay, he writes a weekly cooking column for SFist, and he maintains a popular food and wine blog named An Obsession with Food.
