SFist Jackson loves Fresh Chicken

SFist.com editor-at-large Jackson West rhapsodized about the taste of freshly killed chicken in this post. Few consumers get the chance to eat really fresh meat, but this love letter to perky poultry will inspire you to seek it out.

He found his dinner at a store in San Francisco’s Chinatown, and ethnic markets in other large cities would probably be a good starting point for curious consumers. I don’t know if the USDA makes it easy for producers to sell directly to the public, but it’s always worth asking small poultry farmers in your area.
