King Arthur Flour Mixes

King Arthur Flour, purveyor of some of the best flour available to consumers, has released a new line of baking mixes.

Though making a cake from scratch is only slightly more involved than using a mix—as far as I can tell I just get more bowls dirty when I bake from scratch—I have always maintained a certain condescending attitude about mixes: At least I get to choose high-quality ingredients. With these baking mixes, even that snobbery will be thwarted once and for all. King Arthur Flour has rigorous quality standards, especially given their wide distribution, and their cookbook is one of my key baking references.

I don’t know what it is about Vermont and food. Between King Arthur Flour, The Art of Eating, Cook’s Illustrated, and Eating Well, the tiny state has disproportionally contributed to the country’s gastronomy.
