Biodegradable Water Bottle on the Way
Recycling bottles isn’t a great way to reduce environmental damage. The recycling process is expensive, extends the lifetime of the material for only a few more cycles, and introduces its own environmental cost.
Husky, a Canadian packaging firm, hopes to solve those problems with a biodegradable water bottle. The corn-based material, which can break down in as little as 80 days, is being used for Biota drinking water, and the new bottles should be on the shelves of Florida’s Publix supermarkets this week.
If any Florida-based correspondents want to drop me a line about the new bottles, I’d appreciate it.
