Scope Out Added Sugars

The USDA has released an extensive chart that calculates the added sugars in a wide array of foods. As the organization points out in the introduction, nutritionists advise that you reduce your intake of the sugar that goes into a product during processing. Americans currently eat about 74 pounds of added sugar per year, and there’s an obvious concern about the health impacts.

The report doesn’t mention brand names, but it should give you a good idea about the added sugar in the foods you eat. I’m all for good information, but even I’m a bit overwhelmed by the amount of data in the report. It’s free to download, so take a look.
