We should celebrate food that stands out from the mainstream. Small producers with a passion create healthier products that taste better than their industrial counterparts.

Hillel Cooperman of tastingmenu.com feels the same way, and he started the Independent Food Festival as a way to give bloggers a chance to point to favorite ingredients.
