Food & Water Watch
I received a press release about Food & Water Watch and decided to pass on the link. Add this one to your bookmark list. (I couldn’t find an RSS feed for the site; hopefully they’ll add one soon, but in the interim you can sign up for email updates)
The group employs several experienced lobbyists, and their mission statement suggests a focus on the environmental and social costs of modern food production and water distribution. “We are working with grassroots organizations and other allies around the world,” claims the website, “to stop the corporate control of our food and water.”
They have a particular focus on fish—it’s given a section independent of food—and their mailing lists suggest a bias towards issues in California and Hawaii. But they broach issues from irradiation to mad cow disease to fish in the global marketplace.
