Betty Carlson - Bio
A native of the Pacific Northwest, Betty Carlson has worked, cooked, and raised a family in France for the last 16 years. She currently lives with her French husband and children in Southwest France where she teaches college English.
Her food passions include cheese, wine, local produce, and French regional specialties. Her biggest interest, however, is everyday French cooking and how French working women—and men, occasionally—manage their kitchens. She shares her experiences cooking and buying food in the French countryside on her blog Cuisine Quotidienne.
She has observed first-hand the struggle of French farmers to maintain their way of life and market their products at home and abroad. She is intrigued, and often saddened, by the increasing Americanization of French eating habits.
