What is a Raspberry Revolution?
If you are looking at a bottle of Pure Heart - Raspberry Revolution from Guayaki, then it’s their latest healthy, invigorating drink offering. Guayaki is a unique drink company in that the drinks they market are organic, vegan, rainforest grown and fairly traded. I was intriqued by them because they are so eco-friendly and the drinks are full of antioxidants, vitamins and minerals and are naturally caffeinated.
The Pure Heart flavor is raspberry flavored and has herbs such as mate, hawthorn and yarrow, which are said to promote cardiac performance. Then, additional natural herbs, such as hibiscus and rose hips, are added to it to bring even more flavor to it.
The mission behind Guayaki’s organic drinks is “to create consumer demand for healthy rainforest products that can be grown sustainably and profitably in the natural rainforest, thereby providing native people with healthy economic alternatives to destructive land use such as cattle grazing, huge soy plantations and timber harvesting that has wiped out vast swaths of rainforest over the past century.” Who wouldn’t want to support that business plan?
Now, for the taste test results. I put the bottle in the refrigerator for a couple of days to ensure that it was properly chilled since that was a recommendation by Guayaki. Upon my first taste, I immediately thought it tasted like raspberry flavored iced tea. It is sweetened naturally with organic evaporated cane juice, so if you like a sweeter drink, this may not be for you. If you prefer a flavored tea that is not too sweet, then grab a bottle and give it a try as this drink is definitely for you.
