Wholemato Ketchup, Better Than That “Other” Brand?

With summer barbeque season in full swing and everyone eating burgers and hot dogs on a regular basis, I was curious about a new organic ketchup by Wholemato.  This new product is a gourmet organic ketchup.  I just wasn’t sure something sweetened with Agave, which is a natural sweetener, would make me want to switch from the traditional ketchup that is sweetened with high fructose corn syrup.

One of the benefits of using Agave as the sweetener is that it does not adversely affect blood glucose or insulin, making it an option for those with diabetes.  A second benefit is that it is gluten-free, which seems to be something that more and more people need to consider when purchasing food products.

Wholemato also has several recipe suggestions for using the Original and Spicy flavors.  So this ketchup is not just for your burger and fries, you can use it when making sloppy joes, chili, cocktail sauce, and much more.

Upon my first taste of the Original flavor, I was immediately surprised that the flavor was so close to what I had used my entire life.  It is also a nice and thick ketchup, and just like with those other brands, it was hard to get it to pour out of the bottle initially.  I used it as a condiment with my veggie burger and found myself dipping after each bite.  I do enjoy ketchup on my burgers, but this one was so good I couldn’t help but go back for more.

This is a product you can feel good about serving to your family and friends.  It’s 100% organic, and the use of Agave means no unnecessary high fructose corn syrup is used to make it taste better.  Wholemato packages their ketchup in glass bottles, which ensures that there are no plastic chemicals leaching into the ketchup that you would be serving your family.

Wholemato ketchups are available at Whole Foods Markets and various other chain and independent grocers throughout the U.S.  Suggested retail price for Original is $4.99 and Spicy is $5.49.
