Food & Wine Shares Green Wineries

In the August issue of Food & Wine, there are quite a few articles to help with your efforts to go green.  One I found interesting was about selecting Green Wine.  The author goes to great efforts to explain what qualifies as a “green wine,” as well as organic wines.

In addition to the article on selecting Green Wine, F&W shared exactly what it means for wineries to go green.  One winery has installed solar panels to cut its electricity usage by 40%, while another uses geothermal energy through wells below their parking lot.

F&W shares some selections of these eco-friendly wines so that we can enjoy a glass of wine with less guilt about harming the environment.  I highly recommend picking up a copy of the August 2008 issue simply because they have provided quite a few articles on eco-friendly products, eating locally and going green.  It’s nice to see a magazine with a large readership doing this beyond the month of April and all its Earth Day fanfare.
