Lunchopolis Promotes a Garbage-Free Lunch
I am making an exerted effort of get back into a routine whereby I prepare my lunch every day, a practice that I let slip last year. When I am good about bringing my lunch, it tends to travel via a mini shopping bag, like the paper version of Bloomies little brown bag, or (dare I say) one of the plastic Walmart bags I have stashed. But both are now a thing of the past.
While walking through HomeGoods several weeks ago, I came across the cutest lunch box by Lunchopolis. I admit, I was a bit girly upon my first bit of excitement, loving the fun polka dots and thinking the name was catchy. But the “in there” moment that prompted me to buy the lunch bag was the green factor and the provisions that help make prep and clean up simple with the containers and drink bottle included.
Sure, you can use a different lunch box, along with your local grocer brand plastic Tupperware, but isn’t it a little aggravating when the container you prepare is a smidge too large for the carrier? That won’t be the problem here. These garbage-free lunch carriers were developed “to help eliminate the 3.5 billion pounds of lunchbox garbage generated every year. [So, they] include a lead-free, insulated lunchbox, four brightly tinted containers and a drinking bottle so you can pack a fresh, healthy, planet-friendly lunch with lots of variety.” Imagine how much money you’ll save not buying sandwich bags, foil, cans and/or juice boxes, etc.?
Wait… do I sense you’re wondering about what to put in those lovely, colorful food containers?
Lunchopolis thought you might be wondering too, and that’s why they have a recipe page. Red quinoa with peas and pesto sauce? Steak sandwich with whole grain mustard? Someone at Lunchopolis‘ test kitchen has one heck of a palate!
