Publix Goes Organic for Earth Day

go-organic.jpgI was able to grab a pamphlet of “Go Organic for Earth Day” at Publix this weekend. The small 20 page booklet is loaded with coupons, information on organic foods, and recipes.  While there is something for everyone, I liked some of the coupons a little more than others.

  • $1 off any 3 CLIF Bar or LUNA products
  • $1 off any 2 Van’s products
  • $1 off any Barbara’s Organic cereal 8 oz. or larger
  • $1 off any (2) Seventh Generation products
  • $1 any (2) Kashi Organic Promise cereals
  • $1 off any (2) Organic Valley products

Publix also offers a great magazine that assists its readers who want to “make smart, natural choices on everything from food, nutrition, and fitness to remedies and ideas for disease prevention.” If you live in Florida, Georgia, Alabama, South Carolina, and Tennessee, there is opportunity to sign up for a free subscription.

It’s nice that they promote Earth Day but lately the organic produce is being wrapped one piece at a time in this thick plastic wrap that I think actually gets MELTED shut. It’s bad for us, and bad for the planet so I would say don’t buy your vegetables like that! There are lots of other ways to pack vegetables.
