Gardening with Jamie Oliver
If you’re a fan of British import Jamie Oliver and his Food Network show Jamie at Home, it should come as no surprise that he likes to garden. And these days, when more and more people are trying to trim their budget a bit, gardening is a terrific way to do just that. Besides being completely cost effective, it’s environmentally friendly and a great workout to boot. Sounds like a win, win, win proposition to me, and we’ve already gotten started here. In fact, the first radishes are starting to peek through the soil already.
In a recent issue of Food & Wine magazine, Jamie shared some of his favorite gardening sources:
Implementations - a British company that offers handmade rust-proof copper gardening tools.
Johnny’s Selected Seeds - A mail-order company from Maine that just added 200 new seeds to their already burgeoning catalog.
The Natural Gardening Company - In business for over 10 years, they are the first certified-organic nursery in the US.
Seeds of Change - Need heirloom seeds? This is the place. They also have a unique website feature where visitors can keep online gardening records.
